Q: Does ADH use aggregates?

A: Aggregates may be added at any time. However, the methods we apply when optimizing your ADH data warehouse eliminate most, if not all, of the gains one might achieve via an aggregate. Further, our method of optimizing your ADH data warehouse eliminates the overhead and maintenance issues associated with building and maintaining aggregates.

Q: Does ADH use FACT and Dimension tables like I have read about in some data warehouse books?

A: The FACT and Dimension paradigm was conceived a few decades ago to overcome query performance issues. There is actually no such thing as a FACT or Dimension table – they are tables just like any other table in your database. ADH applies much more up-to-date methods that achieve superior results without having to disturb the integrity of the ERP data structures.

Q: How many users will I be able to support with my data warehouse?

A: ADH does not restrict the number of users that can access your data warehouse. It is reasonable to support over 2,000 active online users with a relatively moderate hardware configuration. We can be more specific once we have explored your current environment and understand the planned usage of your ADH data warehouse.
